Social Innovation and
Entrepreneurship Development Fund

The SIE Fund was established in 2013 with an initial allocation of $500 million and further injected with a $500 million in 2021-22 — whose objective is to act as a catalyst for social innovation in Hong Kong: connecting businesses, NGOs, academics, and philanthropies to develop innovative solutions that address poverty and social exclusion, and to attract, inspire, and nurture the social entrepreneurship that sustains them. To date the Fund has backed over 750 projects and reached more than 602,000 beneficiaries.
