One-stop Coordination Office for New Fire Protection Facilities Acceptance
In March 2025, Fire Services Department (FSD) has established the One-stop Coordination Office for New Fire Protection Facilities Acceptance (OFFA) to further enhance the overall efficiency of fire services installation and equipment (FSI) acceptance inspection of new buildings and projects that facilitate business operations and benefit the public. The key innovative measures include:
Electronic Submission of Applications and Progress Tracking
To streamline the application submission process, the FSD has launched an electronic application platform. Applicants can now submit their applications electronically. Additionally, applicants can track the progress of their applications in real-time through FSD Mobile App, enhancing transparency and convenience.
Streamlined Measures to Reduce Inspection Time
Through technological applications, proactive coordination and streamlined processes, the average processing time for average-scale regular projects is expected to be compressed from 52 to 35 working days, representing a one-third improvement. For public housing projects, FSD targets to complete the process by 22 working days.
One-Stop Coordination
OFFA provides one-stop coordination and support services, aiming to establish more effective inspection policies. These measures include enhancing communication with the industry, implementing a case officer system, arranging pre-inspection meetings, setting inspection schedules, streamlining processes, strengthening the monitoring of professional standards of fire service contractors, and promoting the use of technology within the industry to accelerate the inspection process. Collectively, these initiatives aim to shorten the overall inspection timeline.
OFFA ensures that projects comply with regulations while expediting the approval process, enhancing the quality and efficiency of applications, improving industry professionalism, and safeguarding public safety.
