Building a one stop digital government

Providing the citizens with a single digital identity, “iAM Smart” platform is rapidly becoming an enabler for digitalisation and business facilitation, turning the vision of “one-stop personalised digital services” and “single portal for online government services” into an everyday reality for citizens and businesses. With over 4 million registered users, more than 1 300 online services and electronic forms accessible via a single trusted entry point, daily usage has surpassed 180 000 times, embedding the platform deeply into routine life for tasks provided by the online services such as “SmartPLAY”, “eHealth”, “eTAX”, “eMPF”, International Driving Permit and Working Family Allowance applications, and power/gas company services.

“Personal Assistant” as a digital front door

The “Personal Assistant” page serves as a digital front door, letting users manage tasks, track application status, store digital documents, and handle bills in one place, shifting services from department-centric to user-centric. The “iAM Smart” Personal Code streamlines venue entry and visitor registration, replacing physical ID checks while enhancing privacy and usability.

Seamless bill services and financial integration

“iAM Smart” is being progressively enhanced to provide a unified interface for checking the balance of the government bill services and handling the bill payment. With the rollout of the step-up authentication, the Digital Policy Office (DPO) has been actively exploring with the financial sector to assist them in adopting the function to strengthen user verification in certain key processes, thereby further enhancing the security level and facilitating the digital economy transformation.

Future AI Assistant

Leveraging on the Artificial Intelligence (AI), the DPO will integrate an AI Assistant into “iAM Smart” by end-2026 providing personalised support and transforming “iAM Smart” into an intelligent, service companion for the citizens and businesses.
