Preference may be given to applicants who have attained Level 4 or above in HKDSE English OR IELTS overall band score of 6.5 or above. |

Department of Electrical Engineering | |
BEng in Computer and Data Engineering | To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and have studied an engineering or a science related discipline in a high school or a post-secondary institution. Associate Degree (AD)/ Higher Diploma (HD) graduates or final year students may apply for admission to major programmes offered by the Department of Electronic Engineering with Advanced Standing (entry point: year 2 or year 3). Applicants are normally expected to have completed the AD/HD award with a CGPA of ≥3.0, or an equivalent overall mark or a credit award. Other high school qualifications, GCE, IB, overseas, AD/HD year 1 students may apply for admission to first-year studies. |

Admission with Advanced Standing
Advanced Standing I - Applicants holding a 13-year school-leaving qualification [including an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCEAL)/International Advanced Level (IAL)] or degree transfer students may apply for admission to first-year studies in a Bachelor's degree programme, or admission to a major with Advanced Standing I (non-senior-year). Students admitted with Advanced Standing I (non-senior-year) must achieve a minimum requirement of 90 credit units for graduation, subject to the requirements of individual degrees/majors, and the maximum number of credit units completed should not exceed 114.
Advanced Standing II (only available to local students) - Applicants holding an Associate degree/Higher Diploma or equivalent qualifications may apply for admission to a major with Advanced Standing I (non-senior-year) or Advanced Standing II (senior-year). Advanced Standing II entry is only available to local students. Students admitted with Advanced Standing II must achieve a minimum requirement of 60 credit units for graduation, subject to the requirements of individual degrees/majors, and the maximum number of credit units completed should not exceed 84.
